Campus Climate Survey

Take the Survey

Survey Extended to March 8

There’s still time to share your perspective. Help RIT better understand campus climate and strengthen student support.

Every two years, Title IX administers the Campus Climate Survey in accordance with New York State Education Law 129-B, also known as Enough is Enough. The anonymous survey allows students to share their experiences, perceptions and knowledge related to sexual misconduct, consent and campus resources.

Survey results are used to identify trends, assess areas of risk, and guide decisions about education, outreach, policies, and support services. Your participation plays an important role in helping us strengthen prevention efforts, improve resources, and foster a safer, more respectful campus community for everyone.

FAQs

The survey was developed in accordance with New York State Education Law Article 129-B to assess sexual violence, campus safety, and awareness of institutional policies and resources. The SUNY sexual violence climate survey instrument served as the primary foundation for survey development. The instrument was intentionally customized to reflect Rochester Institute of Technology’s student population, campus culture, terminology, and institutional practices, ensuring relevance and clarity for RIT students.

The RIT Title IX Student Sexual Misconduct Survey is comprised of multiple sections designed to assess student awareness, experiences, and behaviors related to sexual misconduct and campus safety. The survey includes the following components:

· Policy Awareness, including student understanding of RIT’s policies, reporting options, and the institutional definition of Affirmative Consent

· Personal Experiences, assessing student experiences with sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking

· Readiness to Help, measuring students’ confidence and willingness to intervene or seek help when witnessing concerning behaviors

· Community Behaviors, examining perceptions of campus norms, peer behavior, and the overall campus climate related to respect and safety

The survey is for full-time and part-time undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and is available in ASL.
