Oliphant documentary More Then a Vacation debuts at film festival

John Oliphant, program director of Global Public Health, had his documentary film More Than a Vacation accepted to the New York Lift-Off Film Festival. The film follows a group of RIT students participating in immersive research in a remote and mountainous region of the Dominican Republic, culminating in the donation of an off-road capable ambulance by an alum to allow residents emergency access to hospital care. School of Film and Animation students Marissa Lawton and Carson Munn served as editors on the film.
