Sagar Lekhak is a Ph.D. student in Imaging Science at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), advised by Prof. Emmett J. Ientilucci. His work focuses on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based multisensor remote sensing, data analysis, deep learning, and geophysical sensing to advance humanitarian landmine detection.

Sagar is also passionate about making complex scientific ideas accessible, engaging, and meaningful to broader audiences. He has earned recognition in Three Minute Thesis (3MT)-style communication competitions at both the university and international levels, including Second Place at IEEE IGARSS 2025, First Place in RIT’s 2025 Three Minute Thesis competition, and both First Prize and the People’s Choice Award at the IEEE GRSS Excellence in Technical Communication Student Prize at IGARSS 2026.
