One-Session Class: The Articles of Confederation

We study, swear by, and recite the Declaration of Independence and US Constitution but fail to realize the significance of the Articles of Confederation. This class will address the Articles' relationship to the constitutions of the newly formed states, their structure and contents, strengths and weaknesses, and their influences on the era.

Jim Scott is educated as an astrodynamicist and had a long career in engineering and project management. Since joining Osher he has developed a deeper interest in American history.
