Presented by Nancy Aumann Since the outbreak of civil war in 2011, Syria has been at the center of conflict in the Middle East. The continuing violence has led to a major refugee crisis in Europe as well as a renewal of Cold War tensions between Russia and the United States. This course examines past development and ongoing current events with regard to the situation in Syria.
