Presented by Dick Scott- In the summer and fall of 1940, German and British air forces clashed in the skies over the United Kingdom, locked in the largest sustained bombing campaign to that date. Britain's decisive victory saved the country from a ground invasion while proving that air power alone could be used to win a major battle. We will discuss this clash of arms in a way that perhaps you haven't heard. ***Please view the Battle of Britain movie (1969) - I apologize for the bologna, but it does give an overview of what happened.*** The pilots that fought in this conflict were Dick's childhood heroes and he has been studying them ever since. He has some military flying experience though not in combat.
