One-Session Class: Domestic Violence Awareness

Presented by Lois Tucker and Maureen Murphy We will be examining the POWER AND CONTROL dynamics of ABUSE behind the recent Rochester headlines, the character in the novels we have read, the films we watch, the families that we have both counseled. Community resources that provide services for survivors and offenders will be discussed, with the goals of changing violent behavior and overcoming trauma. Lois Tucker, MC. Counseling, is a retired Transition Program Coordinator at Alternatives for Battered Women, which has been renamed Willow Domestic Violence Services. Maureen Murphy, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) has a part-time mental health private practice, co-leads groups for domestic violence offenders and is a retired SUNY Brockport Dept. of Social Worker faculty member.
