Active geologic processes and the geographic isolation of Iceland have strongly influenced the culture and history of its people. Active volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, massive glaciers, and a fierce weather system have created stunning, stark vistas. This course will cover the unique geology and beauty of this country and the fascinating history and culture of the Icelandic people.

A retired geologist, Jane Eggleston loves travel, photography, and learning. She co-leads a multi-year course on evolution, and she has led three other classes.
