Initiated as part of the Spanish -American war, this protracted conflict introduced the coming century of American conflicts in Asia as it fell into the find of horror repeated generations later in Vietnam. Researching and sharing little known parts of American history are one of Debbie's greatest pleasures, and delving into this new arena was eye-opening indeed.
