This class will give a historical survey of the 100 years of turmoil, civil wars, revolts, and Western incursions into China in the 19th century which led to the fall of 2,000 years of dynastic rule in the Revolution of 1911. It provides a background to the recently published book by the author titled Travels in a Vanishing Empire 1915 - 1918.
