Pfaudler Lecture: East High School and The University of Rochester: Issues, Challenges, and Successes
Presented by Educational Partnership Organization (EPO), Superintendent of Schools at East, Shaun C. Nelms, Ed.D. Installation of a new culture requires de-emphasis of old norms, acceptance of innovative ideas and a paradigm shift in expectations for parents/families, scholars and staff. This presentation will highlight the issues and challenges associated with supporting a failing urban school, while promoting a growth-mindset amongst all stakeholders. You will see how our community of support that includes strategies for success, opportunities for improvement and a focus on bringing coherence and structure to current practices and processes at East, has changed the environment and is preparing our scholars for the future. Great things are happening here! We need a volunteer to upload the videotaped lectures to YouTube. Please email Carol Samuel at genesam@rochester.rr.com
