Pfaudler Lecture Series - Evolving Stars: The Universe and NTID's Astrophysics Scholars
Jason Nordhaus, Ph.D., National Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at RIT Professor, Astrophysics Dr. Nordhaus joined RIT in 2014, joined the CCRG as an NSF Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow in 2011, and is currently one of the core faculty of the center. Prior to joining RIT, Dr. Nordhaus worked as a theoretical astrophysicist in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. His research interests include the evolution and dynamics of magnetic fields in evolved stars, close binary interactions, core-collapse supernovae, nucleosynthesis in RGB/AGB stars, and binary-induced shaping of planetary nebulae. He is fluent in American Sign Language and works to expand opportunities for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in astrophysics.
