We are pleased to highlight two of our own members whose classes are always wait-listed. This is your opportunity to hear them lecture without worrying about being wait-listed. Alan Shank spent most of his professional career at SUNY Geneseo where he taught for 31 years. He was Chairman of the Political Science Department. The title of Alan's talk is Safe Haven. In 1944, 960 refugees were allowed to come to the States on a troop ship, and were shipped to a camp in Oswego. Very few people are aware of this historical event. Tim McDonnell is the second speaker. Tim is a graduate of Cornell and taught for 34 years at Victor Junior High School. He is an adjunct professor at MCC. He is also the coordinator of the New York Geographical Alliance. His topic is the Erie Canal and the Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum.
