Summer Seminar Lecture: The Lyrics of Dorothy Fields

We are pleased to welcome back Michael Lasser. Mr. Lasser has written two books on the American Song. He taught at private high schools for over 30 years. Michael has lectured across the country and has a weekly program on WXXI-Fascinatin' Rhythm. The title of his talk is The Lyrics of Dorothy Fields. There are few women lyricists, and Ms. Fields worked with many well know composers, including Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen and Cy Coleman. She penned the lyrics to Sweet Charity, which we will see at the Shaw Festival on July 30th.
