Organizationally positioned in RIT’s Division of Student Affairs, the Department of Assessment, Technology, and Communications is a vibrant team that provides leadership for and manages Student Affairs operations related to applications management, business analysis, data management, and marketing and communications.
Data, Analytics, and Planning
The Data, Analytics, and Planning team leads the effective development and use of student life data across organizational and technical boundaries to enable business insights and promote continuous improvement. The team provides guidance and direct support to Student Affairs department data planning, as well as consultation, and project management for individual data projects. In addition, the Data, Analytics, and Planning team serves as the point of contact for departments to access a range of university data sources.
Marketing and Communications
Our team of marketers, communicators, and creatives develop and implement strategic marketing and communications efforts that support the university mission, promote Student Affairs programs and services, and enhance the student experience at RIT.
We oversee all aspects of marketing and communications for the Division of Student Affairs, including:
Division and unit-level marketing and communications strategy
Promotion of services and programs
Internal communications with current students and Student Affairs staff

The Student Affairs Marketing and Communications team collects digital screen graphics from college/divisions across the RIT campus to create a weekly graphics package. Graphics packages are pushed to Student Affairs-managed screens and distributed to campus partners every week. To share graphics, submit a request to Display Content on Digital Screens.

Systems and Business Analysis
The Systems and Business Analysis team implements and manages technology solutions and business processes to optimize productivity, maintain information security, and strategize innovative approaches for the suite of business units that support student life at RIT.
The Systems and Business Analysis team offers a wide variety of services, such as:
Application assessments for new and existing technologies
Technology needs analysis
Project Management services for application maintenance and upgrades
Troubleshooting of Student Affairs’ technologies
