“With time and experiences, the ‘armor’ that a person wears buils up in layers, which eventually conceals their true identity; only left with the character that is considered socially acceptable,” Tangkijngamwong said. “On top of the purpose of being presentable to the world, the layers also function as a defense against being judged for who they truly are underneath the shield. Even with all the layers, there is still something that will spark one’s heart. My project aims to mimic the depth of what is laying behind a person while pursuing contemporary-style jewelry that shows influences from the form of masks. All work should be made with clear color materials or reversible material that reveals the layer under it, whether it focuses on colors or textures.”
