Veterans and Military Enrollment Services

yellowribbonRIT has a tradition of honoring and supporting active duty military and veterans. For over 50 years, RIT has had a Veterans Services Office dedicated to supporting and advocating for active duty military, veterans, and their dependants—helping them from the moment they consider applying to RIT all the way until graduation. It doesn’t end there: RIT’s Career Services Office offers assistance to its alumni throughout their entire careers. At RIT, we understand active duty military and student veterans’ needs and we are committed to helping each one of our students reach their full potential.

Veterans, eligible dependents and members of our military forces interested in receiving VA benefits are encouraged to contact our office to start the benefit delivery process.

Yellow Ribbon Program

yellowribbonRIT is proud to be a partner with the US Department of Veteran Affairs in administrating the Yellow Ribbon program.  RIT was among the first private non-profit universities to sign Yellow Ribbon agreements, and we currently have more than 100 veterans, military members and their dependents participating in the program.

Students who have completed at least 36 months of qualifying active duty, or have at least 30 days of active duty and were discharged due to a service-connected disability may be eligible for the RIT Yellow Ribbon program.  Students whose parent has qualified and successfully transferred the entitlement to them may also qualify.  Only veterans and their dependents that meet the 100% eligibility criteria for Post 9/11 GI Bill will be considered for RIT’s Yellow Ribbon Program.
