    For the fourth year in a row, RIT received a Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from INSIGHT into Diversity magazine. RIT is also being honored as an institution committed to diversity for 2017 by Minority Access, Incorporated.

    RIT welcomes largest-ever class of Rochester City Scholars

    RIT will welcome the eighth class of Destler/Johnson Rochester City Scholars at a ceremony on Monday. Since the program was established in 2010, more than 150 students from the district have attended RIT and received full scholarships toward their degree programs.

    Over the past 10 years, more than 5,000 first-generation students have enrolled in RIT undergraduate programs. Many have found support in on-campus programs designed to extend opportunity and encourage the pursuit of higher education.

    Marvin “Tim” Albert has been named director of NTID’s Student Life Team and will supervise and oversee co-curricular events including clubs and Greek life for RIT/NTID’s 1,200 deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

    RIT hosts summer undergraduate research programs

    RIT leads universities in New York with seven federally funded summer research programs for undergraduate students. Eight to 10 students per program work with RIT researchers for 10 weeks. The newest Research Experience for Undergraduates program focuses on multimessenger astrophysics.
