Why did you decide on the Executive MBA program?
RIT has a solid reputation as a leader among top colleges, which caught my eye. I chose RIT’s online EMBA program because a) I respect the institution and liked their differentiated curriculum b) RIT offered me the flexibility of telecommuting so I could spend more time with my family and c) the accelerated program meant I would have a shorter runway to focus on my degree that would minimize the impact on my personal life while maximizing my professional life.
How has your education helped your career?
My company has been very supportive of my pursuit of my MBA, including recognizing my accomplishment through higher-level assignments and a promotion. I am more confident. Although my career has been mainly focused on execution, I am now more involved in planning innovative things, which is very exciting and rewarding.
If you had to do it all over again, would you?
I would have done it sooner and stopped with all the excuses. Life doesn't get any easier as you get older so I wish I had gotten it under my belt and benefitted from the learnings much earlier in my career.
