Please note that some of these events may only be hosted for specific Honors Colleges. The event description will specify if the event is only available for a focused group; if it does not say anything otherwise, all our events are open to any Honors Student.

1/29 | Visionary Voices: Expressions of King's Legacy

Expressions of King's Legacy programming has been dedicated to celebrating the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for 44 years at RIT. This year, the keynote speaker is scholar, political commentator, and New York Times bestselling author Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr.
Join Glaude for the keynote address on Thursday, 1/29/2026 from 12:00-2:00pm in the Gordon Field House and learn more and sign up at this link.
You have a special opportunity to participate in a small group discussion with Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr. before the keynote address. 2/10 | Visionary Voices: World Affairs Council
Join Mark Zupan, an acclaimed economist and economics professor at top business schools across the US for a discussion at the February World Affairs Council. Zupan has won various teaching awards and is the author of over 20 academic articles and three books specializing in industrial organization, regulation, and political economy. The topic, "How US Economic Policies are Playing Out Across the World" will dive deeper into these topics and the ever-changing economic landscape in today's sphere.

Boston Spring Break Trip!
RIT Honors is planning a trip to Boston this upcoming Spring Break. Students will travel together to visit historical and cultural sites and engage in college-specific programming. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit businesses and industry locations that align with their professional pursuits.
Travel Dates: Depart from RIT early Tuesday, 3/10 and return late Friday, 3/13.
Trip Details
Transportation: 56-seat charter bus.
Accommodations: Double occupancy rooms at the Harborside Inn.
Meals: Meals will be provided.
Cost: $200 deposit - Can be reimbursed through your Honors Grant after the trip.
Group Events: We will attend a networking and alumni event with RIT President William Sanders on 3/12. We are also planning cultural and historical exploration including the Boston Freedom Trail.
College Specific Events: Students will visit businesses and industries with their individual college for tours and behind-the-scenes access with alumni and supporters of RIT.

Honors Council Meetings
Honors Council is a student-led organization whose purpose is to coordinate Honors Program activities. Full Council meets every other Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm. Full Honors Council meetings will take place every-other week on the same day in the same time and location, and committees will meet weekly.
Students attending Honors Council meetings receive 1/2 hour of complementary learning! Log in when you arrive at the meeting and the office will add 30 minutes to your account for each meeting.

Honors Hour
Honors Hour is every other Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm. These networking get-togethers with Honors students foster a sense of belonging and provide opportunities to connect with your Honors peers and learn about upcoming events. Themes vary, a range of casual activities like puzzles or a friendly game of trivia to programming with presenters or organized group activities. Pizza, snacks, and drinks are provided at every session! Register on CampusGroups (or just pop in) - all Honors students are welcome!

Office Chats
Stop by the Honors Office on the first Friday of each month for Office Chats! It's the same Coffee & Chat you know and love, but now with a new name! Stop by the Honors Office for the first Friday of each month to hang out with other Honors students, talk with the Office staff and ask questions, and enjoy some tasty treats.
Office Chats will be held Fridays 2/06, 3/06, and 4/10 from 10:00-11:00am.
