    RIT has its first on-campus voting site

    This year for the first time, eligible students at RIT will be able to cast their vote in a general election without leaving campus. The Monroe County Board of Elections is establishing a polling station at RIT’s Gene Polisseni Center.

    Into the ROC was created last fall to enable students to experience cultural and recreational activities in the Rochester area and allow them an opportunity to volunteer to make the community a better place.

    RIT designated ‘Voter Friendly Campus’

    RIT has been named a “Voter Friendly Campus” by the Campus Vote Project and Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education for its ROAR the Vote effort to encourage students to register and vote in the 2016 general election and in coming years.

    RIT Habitat for Humanity chapter helped build a home for RIT parking officer Cedric Bowen and his family. Bowen and his family contributed 500 hours to the construction, too.
