    Thousands of RIT’s first-year students participated in the seventh Hunger Project on Aug. 25 in Ritter Arena. Students packaged more than 115,000 meals for the Rochester community that will be distributed through FoodLink.

    Aisha Faiq spent her spring break in New Orleans, but it wasn’t to rest and relax. Instead, the third-year global business management major was one of several RIT students who spent their spring break partnering with a community agency that determined what work needed to be done in their communities.

    Into the ROC schedule announced

    Into the ROC, a popular way for RIT students to explore and volunteer in the area where they attend school, has released its spring schedule, which includes maple syrup harvesting, museum tours, and a coffee crawl of local coffee roasters.

    Horizons program planned to discuss societal solutions

    RIT students, faculty, and staff are invited to discuss non-partisan solutions to some of the most complex civic and political problems of our day as part of the Horizons program. The first, with the topic, “Youth and Opportunity: What Should We Do for Future Generations to Thrive?” is scheduled for Feb. 9.

    RIT welcomes its most recent Newman Civic Fellow

    Growing up in a family of teachers, Nidhi Baindur has valued education from a very young age. Baindur, a second-year computational mathematics major from the island nation of Mauritius, is well on her way to helping others as just the second RIT recipient of the Newman Civic Fellowship, which recognizes and supports community-committed students who are change-makers and public problem solvers.
