- Proposal Development Mentorship Program
PHT180's mentorship program provides faculty affiliates the opportunity for dedicated one-on-one mentoring with PHT180’s pre-award team (Nicole Hale and Terry Koo). Through this program, faculty members will receive dedicated and individualized support through the proposal development process, including discussion of proposal development strategies and timeline, regular meetings to assess progress, and review of all proposal documents. The mentorship program guarantees 2 hours per week of support, for a duration of approximately 6-12 weeks depending on the mentoring scope. The program is intended to support faculty members with limited grant writing experience through the successful submission of a competitive proposal.
*Please note, this mentorship program is in addition to the regular pre-award services offered by PHT180. Our usual pre-award services are still available to all affiliates and are not affected by this program.
Eligibility
Faculty members are eligible to apply if they:
- Are a PHT180 affiliate
- Are proposing a health- or biomedical-related project
- Have a clear grant submission target from an external funding agency within six months of the application date
- Have not been the PI of an award for the funding agency they are interested in applying to
Application and Selection Process
To apply for this program, please complete this form and email it to Nicole (nehpht@rit.edu) by October 21, 2026. Thereafter, application windows will open each April and October, subject to demand.
Spaces are limited due to bandwidth of the pre-award team. Selection and scheduling of mentees will be based on target submission date and the PI’s previous grant writing experience. Priority will be given to early-stage investigators who have not previously successfully competed for an award from the target sponsor.
If you have any questions, please contact Nicole Hale at nehpht@rit.edu.
