RIT Global

A rich student experience is essential to your time at RIT as a Global Scholar. While we practice physical distancing, we are finding new ways to move forward together. Please review RIT’s latest regulations involving activities and events.

In the Global Scholars program, the student experience is not limited to the classroom. Students will have an opportunity to participate in exciting day-trips and customized workshops that will help a student to explore the region and culture, but also reflect on the career benefits of an international education. Such opportunities may include:

Resume Development

Stand out from the crowd of job applicants - your Global Scholars experience belongs on your resume! Students will have an opportunity to attend a resume development workshop focused on encouraging students to reflect on their international experience and articulate the benefits on their resume, cover letter, and interviews.

Industry Site-Visits

Explore regional businesses with an RIT connection! Site-visits will vary and could be a Fortune 500 company with international operations, or a small start-up company focused on the local community. In both cases, students will hear first-hand from industry leaders about their academic and career path, as well as professional advice for entering the workplace.

Seneca Art & Cultural Center at Ganondagan

Just southeast of Rochester,  New York, lies Ganondagan, the site of a Native American community that was a flourishing, vibrant center for the Seneca people. Students will have an opportunity to explore this unique cultural center and important American cultural perspective. From politics and the environmental movement to food and medicine, the roots of contemporary society can be traced back to this historic site right in Rochester’s back yard.

Niagara Falls

A North American natural wonder, Niagara Falls flows with scenic might through Niagara Falls State Park. And just beyond its waterfall vistas, Niagara is filled with splendid discoveries and fantastic attractions.

Pictures are great, but getting close enough to touch Niagara Falls inspires genuine awe. Millions of gallons of water rocket over Niagara Falls every minute – about 750,000 gallons each second! There’s no closer place to “feel Niagara’s flow” than from the decks, boats, vista points and trails of Niagara Falls State Park - America’s oldest state park.

Group Dinners and Events

You are far from alone in Rochester, NY. In addition to the many clubs and activities across campus, Global Scholars will be hosted at a dinner and other events to provide an opportunity to meet with other students from the RIT global campuses. Many of these students may become lifelong friends and colleagues.
