Living Off Campus

Graduate students often choose off-campus living for its potential affordability. Keep in mind that while rent might be lower, there can be additional costs like utilities, fees, and furniture rental (prices vary significantly by location).

Most off-campus options require reliable transportation. Please consider transportation to and from campus, especially if you do not have a car. Certain off-campus locations subsidize the RIT shuttle, and others do not. Consult the RIT shuttle routes and Regional Transit Service (RTS) routes prior to signing a lease if you will need to use public transportation. The Province, Park Point, and APEX are the only off-campus apartments within walking distance.

Be aware that off-campus living means managing your own housing contracts, including furniture arrangements.
