RIT Global proudly supports faculty to engage with colleagues globally to advance individual and strategic research initiatives. International partners increasingly provide RIT with a growing network of experts, laboratory resources, industry connections, and global funding opportunities.
RIT Global facilitates support to colleges and faculty through the following:
Letters of Support
Request a letter of support for a current or upcoming grant proposal(s) which include international partners, connecting RIT to an international network, or creating international opportunities for our students and faculty. Reach out to James Myers and Lyndsey McGrath to facilitate a letter of support.
Initiate a Formal Research Agreement
Initiate a formal research agreement to support your partnership activity through the RIT International Partnership Request form. Formal research agreements include memorandums of understanding (MOU) to support exploration of partnership opportunities which may lead to new research initiatives, collaboration, or access to resources. Additional agreements may be required as research and collaboration progress.
Host a Visiting Scholar
Visiting scholars can expand the academic, intellectual, and artistic community at RIT. A full-time RIT faculty may nominate a candidate with an academic appointment at another university (active or on leave), or who is engaged in relevant professional or creative activities to visit RIT for an extended period to collaborate on research, scholarship, or artistic projects.
See the RIT Visiting Scholar Policy for additional information on the approval process faculty must follow. Reach out to the RIT Global office for additional support welcoming your Visiting Scholar to campus and best-practices for support during their stay.
Develop Research Experiences
Develop research experiences for students with overseas partners and assist with planning the student’s travel logistics. Reach out to Jenny Sullivan to learn more about this opportunity.
Host International Research Students
An International Visiting Research Student (IVRS) is an international student interested in collaborating with an RIT faculty on a full-time research project without earning an RIT degree.
