International Research

RIT Global proudly supports faculty to engage with colleagues globally to advance individual and strategic research initiatives. International partners increasingly provide RIT with a growing network of experts, laboratory resources, industry connections, and global funding opportunities.

RIT Global facilitates support to colleges and faculty through the following:

Global Faculty Research

In Spring 2025, we will be accepting proposals for projects and collaboration efforts to expand research, scholarship, and collaboration among RIT’s global campuses (Croatia, Kosovo, Dubai, and China) and RIT’s main Rochester campus. Proposals must include investigators from at least two of RIT’s campuses, with participation from the Rochester campus required. Preference will be given to proposals focused on interdisciplinary research with particular emphasis on the intersection of technology, art, and design with connections to AI, sustainability, data science, and cybersecurity.

Projects are collaboratively funded by the RIT Office of the Provost, the RIT Office of the Vice President for Research, RIT Office of International Education & Global Programs (RIT Global), RIT Dubai, RIT Croatia, RIT Kosovo, and RIT China.

Total funding available: $125,000
Typical award: $20,000-$30,000
Total anticipated awards: 4-5
External funding cost-share is encouraged.

More information will be posted in the spring. Contact Lyndsey McGrath for more information.

Host International Scholars and Students

Visiting scholars can expand the academic, intellectual, and artistic community at RIT. A full-time RIT faculty sponsor may nominate a candidate with an academic appointment at another university (active or on leave), or who is engaged in relevant professional or creative activities to visit RIT for an extended period to collaborate on research, scholarship, or artistic projects.
