Global Faculty Research Grants: 

We are currently accepting proposals for projects and collaboration efforts to expand research, scholarship, and collaboration among RIT’s Global campuses (Croatia, Kosovo, Dubai, and China) and RIT’s main Rochester campus.  Proposals must include investigators from at least two of RIT’s campuses, with participation from the Rochester campus required.  Preference will be given to proposals focused on interdisciplinary research with particular emphasis on the intersection of technology, art, and design with connections to AI, sustainability, data science, and cybersecurity.

Projects are collaboratively funded by the RIT Office of the Provost, the RIT Office of the Vice President for Research, RIT Office of International Education & Global Programs (RIT Global), RIT Dubai, RIT Croatia, RIT Kosovo, and RIT China.

Total funding available: $125,000
Typical award: $20,000-$30,000
Total anticipated awards: 4-5
External funding cost-share is encouraged.

Proposals Due: April 5, 2024
Decisions Announced: April 22, 2024
Funding Allocation: May vary by project but must begin in AY23-24 (including summer 2024)
and completed within one calendar year
Final Report: Due 30 days after completion of grant funding

Global Experiential Learning Grants: 

The Office of the Associate Provost for International Education and Global Programs provides opportunities to support global experiential learning. The following outlines the program types and proposal process. Faculty and staff from all of RIT’s colleges and locations are eligible to apply to this funding. Proposals will be reviewed monthly on a rolling basis. Faculty should expect a response time of approximately one month. Please make note of time sensitive funding requests upon submission.

  1. International Project – Funding will be considered to support international projects that engage students in cross-cultural collaboration, research, and experiential learning
  2. Faculty-Led Study Abroad Site Visit – Funding will be considered to support new faculty-led program development. Must lead to the development of a faculty-led program within the next academic year.
  3. International Conference, Symposium, or Workshop – Funding will be considered for faculty leading or hosting a workshop, symposium, or conference that engages an RIT Global Campus or priority international partnerships. Please confirm with the RIT Global office for priority international partnerships approved for this grant option.
