Planning for Your Child's Educational Expenses

Choosing a college to attend is just half the battle. Understanding how financial aid awards are determined can be just as daunting. This webinar is designed to assist families who have a student planning to attend college within a year or two. In this webinar, we will:

- breakdown the financial aid process to reduce anxiety and confusion,
- discuss the various sources of financial aid available and how students can access them,
- and address the major components of the dreaded Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Participants will learn that although paying for the costs of a student's college education may initially seem complex, but with a little planning, it should not be feared.
Troy Robinson '12
Troy Robinson '12 / Assistant Director, RIT Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
Troy Robinson has been with the university for more than 14 years, and all within the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Troy also earned his master's degree in Human Resources Development at RIT. He has been an active member on committees at the university focused on student financial literacy, student homelessness, and study abroad programs.
Previously, Troy had worked for the Citibank Student Loan Corporation and was recognized with customer service leadership awards for his dedication to excellence. He also assisted clients by providing solutions for avoiding default on their federal student loans. Troy is committed to coaching students and their families on how to navigate through the financial aid maze so that they can make educated choices for pursuing their future career goals.
