#WomensHistoryMonth
In March for Women’s History Month, we honored some of our exceptional alumnae colleagues to share what being an alumna and RIT staff member means to them. Be prepared to be inspired.
The Benefits of Giving
Thank you for your generous Tiger spirit. Without you, our students’ educational and campus experience would not be possible. We have a few updated giving reports on how your donation has supported others and new ways to give.
RIT Spring Athletics Challenge
Last month, we challenged alumni to get in the game and support their favorite RIT athletics team. We’re thrilled to announce that you helped raise over $75,044 in funding for students in RIT Athletics. Men’s Crew was our challenge winner! Their program will receive an extra $2,000 from a generous donor. Thank you for joining in the fun for a good cause.
Pi Day was Sweet
March 14 was National Pi Day—a time to celebrate the mathematical π symbol and our RIT family. This year for Pi Day we paid it forward by supporting our students, faculty, staff, and alumni suffering financial hardship by giving to the RIT Foodshare program. We are glad to report that 114 donations totaling $4,210.24 were received for RIT’s Foodshare program. That’s a lot of Pi! Thank you for your generous donations.
Racing to the Finish Line
This year, RIT Hot Wheelz is beginning a new chapter in the team’s history and entering the realm of solar-powered vehicles. Comprised primarily of female students, the team is focused on empowering women and recognizing the impact that women can make in the workforce and in STEM disciplines. To support this new project, Hot Wheelz has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the expenses.
A Gift that Gives Back
Scott Hecker BS ’65 wanted to make a gift of impact to RIT, because he appreciates what RIT did for him as a student, and what it now offers all alumni today. Scott made a smart plan to support the Lobozzo Alumni House and create his legacy. "As a Tiger alum, I’m proud of what I see in RIT, and I am glad that I found a way to make a gift of impact."
