David Blight, a renowned historian whose new book, Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, has been published to glowing reviews, will be in Rochester Dec. 3 and 4 for two engagements co-sponsored by RIT.

“Anatomy of a Comic,” will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how Adam Kubert ’81 illustrated an entire issue of Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man No. 305.

Distinguished type designer and calligrapher Robert Slimbach is the 2018 recipient of the Frederic W. Goudy Award, given to outstanding practitioners in type design and its related fields.

RIT’s Cary Graphic Arts Collection opened a new exhibition to celebrate the 100th birthdays of renowned German type designers and calligraphers Hermann Zapf and Gudrun Zapf von Hesse. “Zapf Centenary” is on display now through Oct. 31.
