Bio

Vincenzo Buonomo is a senior program manager at Rochester Institute of Technology’s Center for Quality and Applied Statistics. He is responsible for helping companies to understand and apply Lean and Lean Six Sigma implementation techniques through senior management deployment sessions, training workshops, focused improvement events (kaizen), and lean six sigma projects.

He has over 15 years of training and consulting experience, including international assignments. He has worked with over 100 organizations from a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, service, education, and government. As a skilled team facilitator and educator, he has assisted organizations to implement, achieve and sustain continuous improvement results. He has also guided organizations on quality system management, facility planning, and ergonomics.

Mr. Buonomo holds a ME degree in manufacturing engineering and a BS degree in industrial engineering from RIT. He is an ASQ certified quality engineer and a member of the American Society of Quality.

This course presents the philosophy and methods that enable participants to develop quality strategies and drive process improvements. The fundamental elements of Lean Six Sigma are covered along with many problem solving and statistical tools that are valuable in driving process improvements in a broad range of business environments and industries. Successful completion of this course is accompanied by “yellow belt” certification and provides a solid foundation for those who also wish to pursue a “green belt.” (Green belt certification requires completion of an approved project which is beyond the scope of this course).
