Landi, McConky named department heads in engineering college
The Kate Gleason College of Engineering has named two new department heads. Brian Landi now leads the Department of Chemical Engineering and Katie McConky leads the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Landi ’01 (chemistry), MS ’02 (chemistry), Ph.D. ’06 (microsystems engineering) is a top researcher in the advancement of novel systems and materials for lithium-ion batteries. McConky ’05, MS ’07 (industrial engineering) is an expert in deep learning and data analytics.

Student team wins first SAE clean snowmobile competition
RIT’s Clean Snowmobile team took first place at the recent SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge. It was the first time since the team began competing more than 10 years ago that the determined group dashed through the snowy terrain of Michigan to take top honors among 13 teams competing in the annual tournament in March.
