RIT Dubai student publishes thesis research
Joost van der Heijde, mechanical engineering graduate student at RIT Dubai, successfully published his thesis research, “Quantifying the Spatial Features of the Luders Phenomena using Digital Image Correlation in Mild Steel,” in the Journal of Experimental Mechanics (Volume 63, Issue 5, June 2023). His work was supervised by Wael A. Samad, associate professor of mechanical engineering, and his thesis committee included Salman Pervaiz, associate professor of mechanical engineering, and Rui Liu, assistant professor of mechanical engineering. Currently, van der Heijde is contributing to the field of semiconductor technology at ASML in the Netherlands.
