RIT hosts Upstate NY soft matter workshop
RIT hosted the Upstate NY Soft Matter Workshop on Oct. 11. The event featured talks by leading scientists in the area of soft matter from upstate universities and research institutes including RIT, Cornell University, University of Rochester, Syracuse University, and University at Buffalo. The workshop’s organizers were Assistant Professor Shima Parsa, Associate Professor Moumita Das, and Assistant Professor Lishibanya Mohapatra, all from the School of Physics and Astronomy, as well as Assistant Professor Poornima Padmanabhan from the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Student team wins first SAE clean snowmobile competition
RIT’s Clean Snowmobile team took first place at the recent SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge. It was the first time since the team began competing more than 10 years ago that the determined group dashed through the snowy terrain of Michigan to take top honors among 13 teams competing in the annual tournament in March.
