Pediatric Test Mannequin

Side-by-side photos of RIT students and activities with the text See How RIT is Advancing the Exceptional underneath.

A motorized pediatric stander is a piece of equipment used in physical therapy for patients with muscular dystrophy. The motorized stander with the addition of a test mannequin and communicating sensors allows for the collection of collision and safety data. The pediatric mannequin collects data as the system moves and abruptly halts and then analyzes and presents the data in a way that shows key data relevant to stakeholders, such as potential whiplash.
