Slow but Fast: A Chameleon's Tongue

Side-by-side photos of RIT students and activities with the text See How RIT is Advancing the Exceptional underneath.

Chameleon's are known for their ability to blend into their surroundings but one of their more interesting adaptations is their tongue. The chameleon's tongue allows the slow moving reptile to propel their tongue at 50g's towards their prey. This is more acceleration than a spaceship. "Slow but Fast: A Chameleon's Tongue" will convey the impressive mechanics behind the chameleon's tongue and allow a visitor to experience aiming & capturing prey firsthand.
