SD-CoMETS Scholars - Aisha Faiq

My name is Aisha Faiq and I am a Mechanical Engineering Technology major. I chose my major because I am most familiar with it. Throughout high school, I worked on building robots and competing with them. The MMET program allows me to have the same type of learning. I am so comfortable in classes because the style of classes suit me. In the past, I have won a few awards for FIRSTrobotics. I have also won a few state championships for band. I was ranked 2nd in a state speech competition. Ultimately, I want to use technology to better the future. I want to make something that can help people; people that are usually overlooked. I see myself working for organization that better humanity. I can see myself working for companies that help with sustainable energy or clean water. SD-COMets has helped me get closer to my dreams. They have introduced me to so many people that are inspirations for me. The program helps me get my foot in the door and accomplish my dreams. I know SD-Comets is going to stay with me even after I graduate.
