Caroline Easton Awarded $1M from HRSA

Personalized and easily accessible therapies for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) to decrease addiction misuse and fatalities.

Caroline Easton, a professor in Biomedical Sciences in the College of Health Sciences and Technology, received $1M in funding from DHHS: Health Resources & Services Administration to deveop and provide addiction therapy for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Dr. Easton will led a priority behavioral health team, including Cassandra Berbary & Cory Crane, utilizing Telehealth, Simulation Technologies, Digital Therapies and evidenced based addiction treatments that are personalized and easily accessible to OUD/SUD clients, their families and the community. This team is poised to have a large impact on OUD/SUD prevention, intervention and recovery services across upstate New York State and rural New Hampshire Sites, especially in rural counties most impacted by OUD/SUD misuse and OUD overdoses. This Telehealth prevention, intervention and digital therapy program is designed to reduce the risk of OUD fatalities and especially relevant during COVID-19 which presents new risk factors for OUD/SUD individuals and their families.
