3D Printing Innovations

Location

Institute Hall (INS/073) - Institute - Rm 4160

RIT's AMPrint Center develops next-generation 3D printing technologies, applications, and materials. Visitors will get to see the world's first multi-nozzle 3D printer that jets molten metal droplets - like inkjet printing with molten metal. Another area of the lab will demonstrate how 3D printing is used to make products such as running shoes, swimming goggles, and helmets that are customized to match the shape of the individual wearing them. 3D printers that produce high-strength ceramic materials will be showcased. Yet another demo will allow visitors to see how 3D printed engineered foams are able to absorb energy in collisions.
