Automated CNC Loading and Unloading
The exhibit will be comprised of an automated CNC (computer numerical control) cell for custom dog tag engravings integrating a 3-axis CNC mill with an ABB robotic arm to streamline production. It will be controlled by a PLC (programmable logic controller). The robotic arm loads blank dog tags into the CNC mill, where an engraving tool etches a custom RIT tiger emblem. A vacuum table will secure the dog tag in place for engraving. After engraving, the robotic arm removes and sorts the finished dog tags. This setup enhances precision, efficiency, and customization, making it ideal for high-volume production with minimal human intervention. The demonstration will show this process in GOL 1190 and get to see the mechanism function and engrave dog tags.
