The Best of Friends: Biology & Art

Location

Center for Bioscience Education and Technology (CBT/075) - CBT-1160

This exhibit is a family-friendly space of activities highlighting the historic (and ongoing!) relationship between Biology & Art, and emphasizing the role of early childhood creative play in developing pre-STEM skills. Free play "physics" toys, microscope observations, sampling and math skills, curiosity, and creative expression are all intertwined in a fun play, art, and discovery room--which will also have tables for family/caregivers to take a break in full view of the children, and a quiet reading corner for anyone young or old who wants a respite from the larger festival. This exhibit is led by a veteran educator and neuroscientist--and staffed by bright, enthusiastic, kind, and energetic undergraduate students from the RIT Biomedical Sciences program, and other related majors.
