Connected Vehicles in an Interactive Digital Twin

Location

Golisano Hall (GOL/070) - 70-1705 - Experience Hall (Right block when facing the room)

Embark on a journey into emerging intelligent and connected transportation with our exhibit. Presented by students from the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute (GCI), this exhibit showcases a driver's perspective through our research products on secure connectivity for vehicles and infrastructure for safety. Featuring an immersive virtual environment based on the RIT campus, step behind the wheel of a connected vehicle to experience first-hand the benefits - and potential cybersecurity risks! - of future connected vehicles. In addition to interactive experiences in our digital twin, visitors can explore our prototype of connected vehicles with security services, which consists of several types of radio hardware, including commercial devices designed to be installed in real vehicles. Visitors will also engage with our experts to witness live demonstrations of scenarios on RIT campus in which secure and reliable communication can prevent crashes and save lives. Through all of this, we provide a glimpse into a world where vehicles intelligently communicate with each other and the environment around them, helping human and autonomous drivers maneuver more safely and avoid collisions, even in non-line-of-sight situations. We hope visitors will join us for discussions about our efforts to shape the future of safe and secure intelligent transportation systems. Our work is more than an exhibit; it's a glimpse into safer roadways where security of connectivity technology plays a pivotal role in preventing collisions and ensuring the well-being of road users.
