Engineering Math: Wavelets in Hypoxic Diseases

Location

Hale-Andrews Student Life Center (HAC/023) - Lobby

I will present visual images of the signals of Oxygen Saturation vs time, and the corresponding Wavelet Transform Scalograms. These diagrams show a striking difference between the Scalogram for Sleep Apnea when compared to the Scalogram for more complex cardiopulmonary conditions associated with Hypoxia. This is the first method that could be used at bedside to distinguish these conditions.
