History of K-Pop: A Cultural Exhibition
Location
Max Lowenthal Hall (Saunders College of Business LOW/012) - Krupnicki Board Room (3025)
The K-Pop Cultural Exhibition is a production set up by RIT's K-Pop Club honoring and showcasing K-pop and its connections to Korean culture, music, and performance. The museum-style attraction features the history of K-pop, starting from its origins in the early 1990s in South Korea to its present globalization and rise to popularity. The exhibition contains displays of influential and well-recognized boy groups and girl groups, as well as notable events such as the first exposure of the United States to K-pop idols and the success of the Netflix animation film "K-Pop Demon Hunters." Culturally significant artifacts such as concert light sticks and K-pop albums will be on display for viewing. Visitors can ask members of the club questions about the exhibition as they browse the museum and conclude their visit at a themed photo booth.
