Immersive Walkthrough: Performing Arts Center In this interactive opening event, the School of Performing Arts invites you into RIT’s brand-new Performing Arts Center. This 750-seat, 40,000 square foot facility was designed by the acclaimed Los Angeles architect Michael Maltzen to provide the growing population of performing artists on campus with a state-of-the-art venue. Visit this new state-of-the-art venue for a celebratory first look at the space; an experience that welcomes guests to explore what happens before the curtain rises. Visitors may choose between two curated paths— Backstage Adventure or Mini Matinee—each offering a unique perspective on the creative and technical magic of live performance, and both culminating in a shared musical finale onstage. Choose from two possible paths: Backstage Adventure: join a small group of audience members for an actor-led immersive backstage experience to engage and interact with the dynamic spaces that power theatrical production, discovering how performance, design, and technology intersect to result in a live performance on stage. Advance registration required. Mini Matinee: provides a direct and streamlined entry into the theater for a focused technology showcase and a short performance from the main hall. No advanced registration required. Tracks are scheduled to run every 15 minutes during the hours of 10:30am-12:00pm and 2:30pm-4:00pm During the hours of 12-2pm and 4pm-5pm, visit the PAC for a come and go self-guided theater experience
