Inside the Human Voice

Location

James E. Gleason Hall (GLE/009) - Gordon Atrium

Discover the physics of the human voice. This interactive exhibit explores how the larynx and vocal folds produce sound and how respiratory particles can form during speech. Visitors can examine anatomical models, handle materials with stiffness similar to vocal fold tissues, view high-speed videos of vocal fold motion, and compare how non-Newtonian fluids respond to applied forces and how these behaviors relate to biological fluids in the airway.
