The RIT Electric Vehicle Team is a student-run organization dedicated to promoting electric vehicles on a worldwide stage through the demonstration of real-world electric drivetrains. We are constantly exploring new ways to integrate electric propulsion into various transportation platforms. At Imagine RIT, we plan on showcasing the vehicles and technologies that we have been working on to the public. We will be showing off three of our vehicles: our 3rd generation road electric race motorcycle (REV3), our electric dirtbike (DEV1), and our brand new electric mini-jeep (JEV1). Our vehicles incorporate elements from multiple disciplines of engineering. From safe and powerful battery modules, to a custom, software controlled battery management system, the Electric Vehicle Team is on the forefront of innovation. We want to demonstrate the usability, safety, and effectiveness of fully electric systems to all Imagine RIT visitors. The majority of an average person's knowledge regarding electric vehicles comes from skewed media reporting; our presentation will offer a comprehensive representation of electric vehicles that the visitor will be able to interact with. Using physical vehicles as an integrated component of our presentation will allow the visitor to see beyond the technical figures and diagrams. The visitor will be able to see how the technical paper's elements come together to become a completed vehicle. If this proposal is granted, the Electric Vehicle Team will represent itself, and by default, RIT, as an organization looking to the future by developing innovative new technologies. We hope to inspire our audience to think deeper and understand further the implications and uses of electrically powered vehicles.
