Robotics in Action – Interactive Ball‑Shooting Robot Demo

Location

Sustainability Hall (SUS/081) - fuel cell lab, room 1230

Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women proposes an interactive robotics exhibit that brings STEM to life for K-12 students and families attending Imagine RIT. The robot will demonstrate real-world engineering concepts while students explain how it was designed, built, programmed, and tested. This exhibit offers a hands-on, high-energy experience where kids can: - Watch the robot operate up close, and interact with it by catching a ball and feeding it back to the robot intake - Ask questions directly of student team members - Learn what FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology) Robotics is and how the competitions work - Understand the basics of the engineering design process and teamwork The exhibit aligns perfectly with Imagine RIT's mission by showcasing student-driven innovation, fostering curiosity, and inspiring the next generation of engineers in a fun, approachable way.
