The Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) program at RIT

Location

Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHD/011) - 011-1950 Wehrheim Gallery

The Vertically Integrated Project program is an initiative on campus that allows students to participate in long-term faculty led research and creative projects and get academic credit for doing so. RIT current has 14 active VIPs across campus. In this exhibit we showcase the work being performed in a sampling of these projects. In particular, the Cultural Heritage Imaging, Preservation, and Research project will show how advanced imaging technologies can be used to uncover secrets in historical documents; Peaceland, uses games to increase empathy and shared understanding between former enemies; Echoes, fosters connections with community poets, teachers, and artists creating games around their work; and SMASH THE CRASH, which is an Environmental Initiative to End Bird-Window Collisions in Rochester. More info on the VIP program and the complete list of VIPs on campus, can be found at https://www.rit.edu/verticallyintegratedprojects/
