The Wordsmiths Creative Writing Club
Welcome to the Wordsmiths Creative Writing Club, the creative writing community at Rochester Institute of Technology. Visitors can browse and purchase our club’s student made zines—especially our seasonal favorites, the HalloZine and ValenZine—along with a selection of past issues (such as Potlucks, Dreams, Catching Zines, and more). At our table, you’ll be able to flip through short fiction, poetry, art, photography, and other creative work made by students. Club members will be on hand to talk about how zines are put together, what kinds of pieces we publish, and how students can get involved—whether they’re experienced writers or trying creative writing for the first time. Our goal is to give students a welcoming space to share their voice and explore creativity across genres and mediums. If you stop by, you can expect a friendly, low-pressure environment: browse, chat with creators, and leave with a zine (or inspiration) in hand. Throughout the semester, we hold weekly Writing workshops, host authors to discuss their writing experiences, and have collaborative writing activities to help members in their writing endeavours. We also make Zines, mood boards and organize open mics to give students a space to share their works in a safe environment.
